This annual Community Environmental Council’s Green Gala is just a couple weeks away on Friday, October 4th.
There are only a few tickets left, so make sure to RSVP for the eco-chic party of the year, the Community Environmental Council’s Green Gala, Friday, October 4, 2013 at 6:30pm.
The Community Environmental Council’s annual Green Gala is more than a memorable party; it’s an opportunity to hear how CEC is working to preserve Santa Barbara’s unique way of life. Learn how you can join CEC to build a grass-roots movement that embraces both personal action and government accountability to create a resilient, green future worthy of the next generation.
This year the Green Gala is being held at the latest Funk Zoe addition and rave reviewer holder, The Lark.
CEC’s Green Gala is known for highlighting local food and beverages and the 2013 event will be no exception. Typically, up to 97% of our waste is diverted from the landfill (and yes, we sort and weigh every item, thanks to Green Project Consultants).
Most of the total waste generated by past Green Galas was recycled or composted. These numbers far exceed waste management practices of any standard event and are exemplary even for an event striving to be considered “zero waste.” The remaining small percentage of trash resulted in large part out of the necessity to package delivered food.
