Local farming, sustainable food, farmers market, CSA… these are all phrases you are probably used to if you are interested in living a sustainable life. For instance you might have heard that it’s good to buy local to support your local economy, however what you might not be aware of is the impact that specific foods have on our environment. We came across this clear and easy to understand infographic which breaks down by numbers the impact of our food system in the US on our environment. The numbers astonished us, did you know that decreasing your consumption of chicken by one serving per week is the equivalent of taking 500,000 off the road? Wow.
